May i fly like an arrow of God until I'm gone
God's be damned, what a month.
Grandma is dead. Long live grandma.
The memorial was the most physical and emotionally draining experiance of my life. My family is filled with strong men, and to see them shaking while they read their piece, then crying afterwards, shook my soul. Literally. I had to keep everything inside or I would explode, and not in a good way. After all was said and done, the last remark annoyed me. It was the only thing that wasnt perfect. The reverend told us that that 'I know down in Judy's heart, she wants all of you to accept Jesus blah blah fucking triune god blah'. This really angered me. My grandmother could care less if you accept jesus into your heart. What MY grandmother really wanted is to us to live our lives to the fullest, and to be as happy as we can be and proud of who we are regardless of sex, race or creed. I ran outside after that and had a cigarette, And I lit one for my grandmother, because she smoked one time in her life and if she still did she would have had a cigarette with me to comfort me. Then i couldnt hold it and the dam started to leak. No one was around though so It was just me, my tears, and grandmother the wind. Even now it feels completely different, everything does. My life is changed. It was the first death ive had close to me. Im not close with many people, but I was with my grandparents on my fathers side. I cant imagine when my grandfather dies.. I have to take it. Thats what I do. Im a schick. We are a strong people. When nobody wants to do something, or someones taking volunteer's, we are there. Because it shit needs to get done, and we know that.
But the rest of the world goes on.
Im sick. I havent slept. My grandmother just died and Im having a hard time to cope. Here I am at work, because IM the one that gets shit done.
Everyone makes mountains out of molehills, while we spend our time turning mountains into molehills. Because someone has to.
And that someone is me. Im too important to stop. Its impossible to stop me.
Fuck your indecision, I'll make a choice that will benefit all of us.
This is what happen when your raised on the common courtesy. American Samurai.
The ultimate reward is honor not awards. Emotions negatively affect business. I dont even know what im trying to fucking say. Someone will see these and say that I'll never be a decent writer. Thats a fear anyway.
I must save face.

Funeral Songs
"Come on Up to the House" - Tom Waits
My dad said he wanted 'Time for Me To Fly' and some songs by Buckethead played at his funeral. Scary thought, I know, but if anything our exit should be more graceful than our entrance. Its giving me reverse anxiety though. Every time I hear Fly by Night I think of Time for me to Fly and then I think of my dad trapped in ashes. [cremation for us].
Im being morbid. And depressing. I want the Porpoise Song played at my funeral. The number one song.
My, my the clock in the sky is pounding away
Theres so much to say
A face, a voice, an overdub has no choice
And it cannot rejoice
Wanting to be, to hear and to see
Crying to the sky
But the porpoise is laughing good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
Clicks, clacks
Riding the backs of giraffes for laughs is alright for a while
The ego sings of castles and kings and things
That go with a life of style
Wanting to feel, to know what is real
Living is a lie
But the porpoise is waiting good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

We were called to the forest... when we went down.
A wind blew warm and eloquent
We were searching for the secrets of the universe...
And we rounded up demons and forced them to tell us what it all meant
We tied 'em to trees and broke them down one by one
And on a scrap of paper, they wrote these words...
And as we read them, the sun broke through the trees...
"Dread the passage of Jesus, for he will not return."

Golden Era of Film
The last year or so I've found myself drawn to movies from the early era's of film; from the roaring twenties on to the late seventies. Before that I was mostly obsessed with current films and cinema from the eighties on, but after watching countless documentaries I've found a love in old pictures.
Tonight I'm watching 'Sunset Blvd.' I had only seen this movie once or twice, never in its entirety, on AMC or TCM. Even though the quality is sub-par [encoded from avi to flv which destroys most of the quality] the movie shines through. Willem Holden is great as the main character, Joe Gillis, narrating the events in pure noir fashion, using beautiful phrases [there to the west was the tennis court, or rather, the ghost of the tennis court] and, of course, smoking. Most of the scenes, however, are stolen by Gloria Swanson playing the bat-shit crazy, deluded washed-up actress Norma Desmond. Lost in her own world of disillusion, she tries to submerge Joe in what once was, while coping unsuccessfully with what is. I have to say that my favorite scene is between Joe Gillis, and Betty Schafer [played by Nancy Olsen] talking about Joe's career. While Joe is trying to escape the mental Norma, he visits a close friend to find out that his girlfriend/fiancee is the secretary for his connection at paramount. On their previous meeting, Betty negativly reviewed his latest script. "Your one of those 'give us a message' kids. The journey isnt enough." The start acting out a scene from one of his decent screenplays, and stay in character until Joe is beckoned to use the phone in the hall. The acting, directing, dialogue, are all very unconventional for the times, also being one of the first films to take place behind the curtain in Hollywood. Cecill B DeMille and Buster Keaton even appear for a short amount of time, as themselves.
"Thats the trouble with you readers, you know all the plots."
Yesterday I had a hankering for Peckinpah, so I watched 'The Killer Elite', 'The Getaway' and 'Convoy'. Apparently I really needed to stare at Ali McGraw for 4 hours. Which was fun. I prefer her in the Getaway more than Convoy. In Convoy she seemed a little to Barbeau. I love the gritty machismo realism in Peckinpah's films. Even Convoy, which is essentially smokey and the bandit, he managed to make gritty and real. Borgnine's performance as the fascist shit-machine Sheriff is actually the best in the film next to Kris Kristofferson as Rubber Duck and his teamster buddy Burt Young. The Killer Elite was a film in the vein of Convoy, fun, which is alien to Peckinpah. Actually, reverse that. James Caan and Robert Duvall are back together as a pair of Goverment bodyguards in the midst of a conspiracy. I just want to get my favorite part of the film out of the way, and i know this sentence alone will give you cause to rent buy or watch this. It has ninjas. Thats right. Imagine Peckinpah's no guff-albeit-a-bit-racist manliness, played by James Caan, and ninjas. I should keep ahead of myself and just end the review there.
'The Man With The Golden Arm' starring Frank Sinatra is the first Preminger movie I've seen. I've heard his name [Cecil B. DeMented has it tattooed on his body] and seen him before [Mr Freeze in the Adam West version of Batman.] The movie is about Frankie Machine [Sinatra] an ex card-shark and junky. The entire movie goes from him getting out of jail, doing heroin, saying hes not going to do heroin, then doing heroin again. As well as his mistress and crippled wife, the plot isnt much. But for the time it is incredible, one of the best movies about heroin I've seen, and frighteningly real in the 40's when Heroin was becoming THE big thing. Highly recommended.

Never operate on a psychic.
it must be horrible to be psychic. I wouldnt want it.
The original idea -- the lost world.
What was it that we admire most about Burroughs?
It just seems that because it was written so long ago that the ideas are already gone. What Burroughs-esque stories work and why?
Sense of adventure. Things to impossible to be true, but too true to doubt.

serpentia
female in and of itself is entirely genetic. not pertaining to species. small quantum points in our dna that say this is male or female
how did i get here? no one will believe me...
[inspired by The Phantom Planet]
I went to space. I went into space. Through. Between. Inside. And now for better or worse, i'm back.
But that dosent matter. no one believes me. As soon as I, well, landed I guess there were men waiting for me. I dont know how long they had been there or how they knew where I would be. I didnt even know where I was going to be. But they were there, with a gun in one hand and my life in the other. They took everything from me, destroyed my credentials and family. If there were any loose ends, they would take care of them with a .38 special. They left me alone, but they took everything. Well. Almost everything..
[The seemingly homeless, dirty tramp grabs hold of a rock in his pocket]
It looks like nothing. To most of you it is nothing.
In 100 years you will all be very wrong.
My residence at this moment is an alley behind the Waldron's in some unknown city. Every morning I wake up with the taste of copper in my mouth. Since I returned home everything has been changing. The Jweli'on seems to have been absorbed into my chest. Theres a black patch of skin that feels like iron near one of my ribs. At night I wait for Nyx to take her leave. I can feel it, hear it slowly shaping me. strengthening me. I am becoming.

a whale
If I was a deity I would demand that nothing smaller than a whale be sacrificed to appease me. And I would demand sacrifice.

Come, Anon, to the garden.
My Dreams of the Underworld / The Traveler
The beginning will start with a conversation about where the term 'A Murder of Crows' comes from; as Frank and Lucas watch a Murder stay a step ahead of a trash route. They are sitting on the roof of their apartment building smoking a joint.
Frank has vivid dreams of the Underworlds. The realms and plot are outlined below :
- Dreams of the Underworld : Hell - On what has become of the City of Dis
- Dreams of the Underworld : Nastrond - Of Nidhogg Eating the Corpses on the Shore
- Dreams of the Underworld : Kur-Nu-Gi-A - The Land of No Return / Into The Dead Sky
- - - The dead eat clay, have wings and are shrouded in darkness.
- Dreams of the Underworld : Asir Ra'Nash : Of The Nameless City & Her Cleansing Fire
- Dreams of the Underworld : Diyu : Of Yan Lou & Ming Po & The Cup of Forgetfulness
- Hvergelmir - Where the 11 Rivers Intersect
- Yama - First Death, name means Twin [Yami] The Just Judge -Enma-Dai-o
- Fengdu Cheng - City which houses a cavern or hole into hell [the dark mansion, earth prison, shady space]
The Wolf Age - Garm [character or cerebus?]

Selene - Moon Goddess
- - - Every night after Helios returns from his journey across the sky, she must do the same. The night is very sexual, Moonlight represents Selene kissing her mortal lover, Endymion.
Hathor / Sekhmet - The Lion Headed Goddess
- - - Associated with Destruction, War and Divine Revenge
The Angling of Leviathan
- Daedelus Encounter : sighted between st helena and the cape of good hope. Maned. 60 feet long. More lizard than fish. Oarfish?
- Aspidochelone/Fastitocalon
- Asp-Turtle. Exotic sea animal that would appear to be a reef or island, and would appear that way until fire was lit on it. Then it would suck the sailors and their vessel into the deep.
- Jormungandr - The World Snake

wall."

an experience she described later as "surreal": "it completely de-romanticised the body for me."
hierophant
According to most ancient Jewish midrash, the Leviathan was created on the fifth day (Yalkut, Gen. 12). Originally God produced a male and a female leviathan, but lest in multiplying the species should destroy the world, He slew the female, reserving her flesh for the banquet that will be given to the righteous on the advent of the Messiah
In a legend recorded in a Midrash called Pirke de-Rabbi Eliezer it is stated that the whale which swallowed Jonah narrowly avoided being eaten by the Leviathan, which generally eats one whale each day.
spring heeled jack - W. G. Willis's 1849 play, The Curse of the Wraydons, where Spring Heeled Jack is a traitor who spies for Napoleon Bonaparte, and stages murderous stunts as a cover.
Umibozu - the sea monk - sinks the ships of sailors unless they have a bottomless barrell
their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps - deut 32.33

Becoming an idea.
I don't think it's an all-around good idea. I mean not for masses. Its a good singular goal though. Just like Batman!
Shazmaru
Evolved from A curse word.
My entire life goal can pretty much be summed up in the lyrics of the following song :
Sharp like an edge of a samurai sword
The mental blade cut through flesh and bone
Though my mind's at peace, the world out of order
Missing the inner heat, life gets colder
Oh yes, I have to find my path
No less, walk on earth, water and fire
The elements compose a magnum opus
My modus operandi is amalgam steel packed tight in micro
Chip on my armor a sign of all-pro
The ultimate reward is honor not awards
At odds with the times in wars with no Lords, a Freelancer
A battle cry of a hawk make a dove fly and a tear dry
Wonder why a lone wolf don't run with a klan
Only trust your instincts and be one with the Plan
Some days, Some nights
Some live, Some die
in the way of the Samurai
Some fight, Some bleed
Sun up to Sun down
The Sons of a battle cry
Some days, Some nights
Some live, Some die
in the name of the Samurai
Some fight, Some bleed
Sun up to Sun down
The Sons of a battle cry
Look, just the air around him
An aura surrounding the heir apparent
He might be a peasant but shine like grand royalty
He to the people and land, loyalty
We witness above all to hear this,
Sea sickness in the ocean of wickedness
Set sail to the sun set no second guessing
Far east style with the spirit of wild west
The "quote-unquote" code stands the test of
Time for the chosen ones to find the best of
Noble minds that ever graced the face of
A hemisphere with no fear, fly over
The blue yonder where
The sky meets the sea
And eye meets no eye
And boy meets world
And became a man to serve the word
To save the day, the night, and the girl too

WOAH!
I have started to write down the name of every book that I read on to my desk with a sharpie. As of today, the 13/4th I have read about 16 or perhaps 17 books.
The Godfather by Mario Puzzo
Creation by Gore Vidal
Story of B by Daniel Quinn
Fires of Eden by Dan Simmons
Ilium by Dan Simmons
Olympos by Dan Simmons The Man in The High Castle by Philip K Dick
VALIS by Philip K Dick
Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said by Philip K Dick
The Informers by Bret Easton Ellis
Less Than Zer0 by Bret Easton Ellis
Monstrosity by Edward Lee
Dubliners by James Joyce
Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
The Lost World by Michael Crichton
I swear theres one more Im missing.. But oh well. Im working Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson now. I really like it. I havent read much cyberpunk besides William Gibson and a collection of stories by Bruce Sterling, and Stephenson is something different. More Cyber and more Punk than any of the previous offers, in a delightfully quirky anarchaic universe. A new drug called 'Snow Crash' has made its way into the world. A peice of code that when looked at/read scrambles all the neural circuits back to nil. Goes into Neurolinguistics and the Tongue of Eden.
After this I'm not sure what I'm going to read. Thinking about 'The Fall' by Camus or 'The Exil & The Kingdom' but im not sure. Maybe Faulkner's 'Sound and the Fury' or Mark Twain. Im in the mood for something classic. But im still halfway through what im reading now so my taste will undoubtedly change.
Well I think I got my shit taken care of for the month. That. Is a HUGE relief. Now Im at work. On my half-friday
hahaha 'its not my computer! its new!' well it is sir, you might want to contact a mac tech 'i am a mac tech!' then humor me and use a different compute. :uses other computer: 'omg it works!'
thats why i use linux
sounds like the guy who screams CODY! in frisky dingo and hes rambling about buying shoes [shoe fetish site] and just wont listen to me omg
Jordan Schick [11:22 PM]:
oh i dont care if its 9.95 thats not gonna break me i mean i need those shoes and i go to the library but i gotta watch it doing that cause i got in trouble at the library
Jordan Schick [11:25 PM]:
i mean i dont know why they wont call me i sent them my information and they wont call me i think im actually going to go to a different company in california for the shoes if i dont hear something back from them, it has been a few months but i think ill give them a few more yknow cause i really want those shoes the people are nice and Candys had some shows like that sometime and those are really expensive but i dont have to go to new york gallaria in new york to buy them but i dont know i dont want to go to new york to buy shoes i mean theyre really expensive plus the trip
Me : Do you know your username sir?
H : I think so.
Me : Its your name.
H : Nightwalker!
Me : No sir thats not your name..
Man. People really need to reread what they write. Or at least take the time to realize what theyre writing.
I mean, what do I say to this?
"bubblebutt tranny is not letting me in and it took my money."
"Im being billed by something called Latourine? It has a 10 digit number next to it.."
"The billing company is Latouraine."
"Whats that number next to it."
"Does it start 888?"
"Yes"
"That would be their phone number"

Fuck Allllllll the Mr Whitt's
First off, fuck you.
Seriously.
I hope your redneck-white trash piece of inbred dog shit brain gets bashed in with a fucking pipe. In front of your entire family. With the children smiling and too fucking dumb to know whats going on because you beat them since they were born.
Yes, you. Mr customer. YOU who treat me like shit.
I have your information.
Donald Whitt? Fuck you. Oh, look at that. Your from North Carolina. I'm sorry, I didn't realize. Well Mr Whitt, Donald, Fuckstick. May I call you fuckstick? Oh only your friends can call you fuckstick, i guess ill just stick with pig-fucker. Well, pig-fucker, when you signed up for your porn site, you clicked on complete this purchase. Before that, there is a little box you have to click in order to sign up, that says you agree to the terms and conditions. Terms and conditions state that you HAVE to cancel a subscription 24 hours before the rebill date in order to not be billed. That is a legally binding document. Thats why I laughed at you when you said you would take legal actions. Go ahead cocksucker, try it. See how far you get. Your friends subscribe to porn. They understand that we are not fucking responsible for you not reading. Its not even our fault that you cant read.
Finished less than zero. Then read Crooked Little Vein. Now I have 140 pages left of Monstrosity. And I'll finish that in the next few hours. Think Im going to reread The Third Policeman. Actually finish it this time since Lost is back and I love Lost..
Less than an hour left.

Field Guide To Universe Creation
I saw buckethead. Fuck that trip. Great show though. Saw Vehemence too. Fucking awesome show.
Finished Ilium. Finished Olympos. Halfway done with Less Than Zer0.
25 minutes till I get to leave work. Which is nice. Hashing out a lot of ideas for the comic multiverse. My very own universe.
Now the fucking calls come in.
WHERE ARE MY PHONE SPIDERS!

tao of shaz [under construction yes i see the conflict]
Never, ever, turn down a free trip.
Cast shame and doubt away.
Understanding is not the same thing as agreeing.
Nothing purely is, only appears to be. [The map is not the territory]
The ultimate reward is honor not awards.

psychadelic tubers?
I was just talking to Paul about some of my story idea's, he seemed interested after telling him about the zombie novel I want to write/publish. I guess I'm not in as bad shape as I thought. I mainly talked about the short story I'm attempting to write now 'The Coyote Borealis' and he said he would read it, and name a band after it. Which is enough for me. Just gotta keep doing the research. Thats a lot of research by the way.
I'm trying to pass it off as a Hard Science Fiction, but the way its going I think I should stop calling it that. Just say I'm writing a sci-fi story.
Don't worry about it. On to tonights research!
Aurora Borealis only occur near the polar caps. Aurora Borealis [northern/polar lights] and Aurora Australis [Southern lights]. They are usually green, sometimes faintly red.
Aurora's do not occur under altitudes of 80km. It is created by a collision of charged particles [electrons, protons and heavier particles from the magnetosphere] with atoms and molecules from Earth's Upper atmosphere [above 80km]
The particles have energies from 1-100 keV.
keV - Electron volt
One electron volt is a very small amount of energy.
Most aurorae are green and red emission from atomic oxygen. Molecular nitrogen and nitrogen ions produce some low level red and very high blue/violet aurorae.
What molecular emissions would create a Yellow/Orange.
Research color spectrum and molecular coloring.
green/red - atomic oxygen
blue-violet - molecular nitrogen / nitrogen
Typical aurorae are curtain's west to east [quiet arcs], some are constantly changing and are known as Active Aurora's. The curtains often show folds called "striations", which are curtain-like.
It is SUGGESTED that aurora's are shaped based on the earths magnetic field. So to create an aurora anywhere, the first piece of information would be, where on the magnetic field. If the magnetic field is fickle, then how to create a magnet field [without destroying the earth].
When the field line guiding a bright auroral patch leads to a point directly above the observer, the aurora may appear as a "corona" of diverging rays, an effect of perspective. [in my mind i see the Atari video game Tempest, but with a multitude of colors. or perhaps only one color and the outlying shades of that color]
Aurora's are always west to east, coming from where the sun is.
The aurora is a common occurrence in the Poles. It is occasionally seen in temperate latitudes, when a strong magnetic storm temporarily expands the auroral oval. Large magnetic storms are most common during the peak of the eleven-year sunspot cycle or during the three years after that peak.
So to create a setting for an Aurora to take place, one would have to create a magnetic storm, to temporarily expand the Aruroral Oval. Then how does one create an Auroral Oval?
So an aurora is created by a collision between charged particles and atoms/molecules earth's upper atmosphere, this creates a [depending on what particles are used] an aurora. Aurora's only happen along earth's magnetic field, in the Aruroral Oval. Sometimes, if a magnetic storm happens, this can stretch the Aruroral Oval so a Aurora is possible away from the 'designated' areas. But only in temperate climate. So an aurora below sea-level is impossible. Or invisible..
The bigger the magnetic storm, the faster the collision. [which results in what exactly? more fantastical aurora?]
When the solar wind is perturbed, it easily transfers energy and material into the magnetosphere. The electrons and ions in the magnetosphere that are thus energized move along the magnetic field lines to the polar regions of the atmosphere
So when the solar wind is perturbed, aurora borealis are born? No, when the solar winds are disturbed it makes it easier to transfer the necessary particles in the magnetosphere. So the first sentence i guess makes the most sense.
Most common during the 11 year sunsport cycle, and the three years afterward.
It is not well understood why geomagnetic storms are tied to the earth's seasons when polar activity is not. It is known, however, that during spring and autumn, the earth's and the interplanetary magnetic field link up.
Well fuck, what do geomagnetic storms have to do with aurora's? Geomagnetic storms disturbs earths magnetosphere, caused by a disturbance in space weather.
What a tricky bitch this universe is. So the main parts of an aurora are as follows :
The earth's magnetic fields. Solar Winds from the Sun. Earths upper atmosphere. So with that information I should be able to come up with at least a semi-plausible explanation for how to do create these options.
So I would have to manipulate the earth's magnetic field/auroral oval to encompass the south [Texas/Mexico/Central America]. How the hell would it be manipulated? Stretch it? No. A Man-mad electromagnetic storm to pull the auroral oval to those area's.
In 1859 two operators in an Aurora were able to converse without the use of batteries. Amazing. September 2nd, 1859. From Portland to Boston. The conversation lasted for 2 hours without any battery power. The earths magnetic field was somehow charging them. This gigantic aurora
was caused by a massive coronal mass ejection. Which means a massive ejection of sun plasma. This collided with our magnetosphere and created the most visually impressive Aurora in history. You could see it, literally, as far as Japan.
Although theres no official explanation for it, it is thought that it was caused by a CME, almost the limit of what the sun is capable of producing.
Recreating a CME.
Im thinking about making this happen for a international holiday. My story does take place in a future where the world is on its way to a Type 1 civilization, so there is actually a chance that some unity might exist. And there are holidays that exist regardless of ethnicity and creed. Like New Years. And Doomsday. Think I would go with the prior before the latter though.
That would be the purpose. I wouldnt really have to state one, so people could draw their own conclusions. The purpose was to build a borealis. The purpose was to advance our species. The purpose was to have a happy new year. Whatever. As long as it gets people to think. Im an optimistic realist. I hate christianity based religions. NO i wont capitalize the C in christian. I'll just add the non-capitalized ones to the dictionary. Hail Eris!
I have hope for an intelligent species.
I think we have promise, so fuck you.
Ive gotten off subject of my research. Times almost up anyway so I guess thats all for tonight. Gonna let it stew around in my head, hopefully I don't end up writing prematurely.

what the hell?
What a shitty note to start the night on. Some asshole cant handle rejection, because of so they felt the need to scream at me for 20 minutes. Jesus. Ive been yelled at 3 times tonight.
This next passage from Ilium makes me happy though.
" "Did Pandarus give that endless speech before Diomedes killed him?" I Ask.
in my favorite translation, Pandarus bemoans his fate for forty lines, has a long dialogue with a Trojan captain names Aeneas--yes, the Aeneas-- and the two go charging at Diomedes in a chariot, flinging spears at the wounded Acheaen.
"No." Says Nightenhelser. "Pandarus just said 'fuck me' when the arrow missed its mark. Then he leapt on the chariot with Aeneas, tossed a spear that went right through Diomedes' shield and breastplate--but missed flesh--and said 'Shit,' in the second before Diomedes' spear caught him right between the eyes. Another case, I presume, of Homer's poetic license in all the speech-making." "
Hah! Brilliant.
Another hour until my smoke break. Although I bet I could take one now. But.. meh. Only been taking a call every 30-60minutes, and reading the rest of the time. I'll see how long I can wait. I'm getting a headache and the last time I was outside it started to sprinkle. I am also tired.
Coyote Borealis
The door to the smoking patio was locked. It had been for the passed two weeks. There was even a piece of paper on the door thanking everyone for smoking out front and that the patio will be finished a month ago. I'm the first person here for the graveyard shift, and I'm early, so i steal a stapler off of a nearby desk and use it to prop open the patio door. The locks are old and dont work, so if the door closes then it's a long jog to the front of the massive building. I walk through the door of the smoking patio into a tiny room that has two doors. One of them leads to a stairway which leads to the smoking patio itself, the other, a broom closet. My descent outside is lit better than previous expeditions. The stairway is more stable [the handrail can now be not only touched, but braced] and the god awful sewer pipes are no longer exposed.
I walk outside, past three video camera's and sit on one of the plastic picnic-tables. The smell of garbage is almost overwhelming. Apparently I have retained my Sentinel-like senses, which is no good for me, since I can smell the garbage perfectly fine. I move to a picnic-table that is farthest away from the garbage, light a cigarette and look for rain.
A few miles away I spy stratus clouds slothfully running down the sides of South Mountain, creating a mild fog, bathing the playground in the park below with morning dew. Above me is a storm front of violet clouds, swiftly moving eastbound. I inhale deeply the scent of rain and open my book. I feel a gentle raindrop and look at the table, tilting my head, allowing the light to reflect through the water letting me see a thousand tiny raindrops. The clouds aren't quite ripe enough. As is mostly the case in Arizona. They keep moving. The mood for reading has come and gone, and I position myself across one of the tables, staring into the sky.
Somewhere my father is making clouds just like these ones. I wonder if any of them are for me.
Aurora Notus
Aurora's go East - West
Active aurora - constantly shifting
Each curtain consists of many parallel rays, each lined up with the local direction of the magnetic field lines, suggesting that aurora is shaped by the earth's magnetic field. Indeed, satellites show electrons to be guided by magnetic field lines, spiraling around them while moving earthwards.
Jesus theres so much to research for this story I only want to make at least 30 pages.
I dont even have time to do it this weekend. ;_;
I need to get some notebooks.
Im mostly worried about rent for February. I was sick an entire week, so even working overtime I wont be able to catch up on hours. How depressing. Although I did get a raise. But that probably will not be in effect until the second paycheck of February. I missed 5 days last week. 5x64 = 320$ less than I should be. My work schedule for this week starts on last Wednesday and will continue until next saturday. Im going to try and work at least 16 hours this weekend, and the cutoff for the next paycheck is wednesday, So by doing that I will have made up 128$. From Weds to Weds thats about 6 and a half days give or take so that means that my paycheck should be around 448$ without tax.. Which will leave me with around 650$. Rent is 350-400 [plus the amount that i have to pay Goatis for], other bills total up to about 85$ and the loan I have to pay back is 178$ i believe. Then when I come back to work Ill try and work an extra two hours a few more days that way I can take Jesse out to dinner for her birthday.
Fuck I hate being sick. Makes everything worse. Including guilt. I feel like a catholic. I feel like a shitty roommate. I made a resolution to be better with money and what happens? I get flu and miss a week of work. Oh how cruel the fates melodies are. I'm trying really really hard to make this my year though. This is the first time that I've ever worked overtime, or made up hours. Thats how sincere I am. Im planning on working sunday/monday from 12-8
So much on my plate this weekend. Week. Jesus. I cant wait another seven days for this to be my real Friday. At least I don't have any hours that I have to work.
Anyone wanna lend me 50$?
Nah, didn't think so.
damn.
P-Funk: i just talked to some guy in baghdad... i almost expected to hear explosions in the background
Shaz: black ops having porn problems
P-Funk: no he was iraqi, he didn't have a sub just asked if i would leave his country
Shaz: hahaha
Oh wow, a nice older lady!!! I'm so happy! I keep getting some guy I wouldn't give a refund too calling and hanging up when i answer, i half expected that to be him. But no, older lady wanted to know what we were and what we bill for. I told her over 100,000 websites, about half if not more, are adult websites. Then I gave her some examples of other websites we charge for that are not adult-related. Then she said 'OK thank you' and hung up. That was neat. One of the few people who don't want to scream at me tonight. huzzah.
I have to read Glenn's chapter. I know it will be good. He happens to be well read, with a long list of distinguished authors. Or what I would call distinguished. He's really into the golden age of america which is exciting because I also share the love for those times when the sky was the limit, no computers and fascism didnt necessarily hide behind the American flag... as much.. Hm. I don't rightly approve of that last comment but I am a completest so fuck it. It stays.
I want to go home, smoke and go to sleep. Then come back here. Hopefully Ill get a hold of Paul so I can get a ride from him

if you could see where ive been
your touching the hand that touches sin
Its been about 2 weeks since I've posted in this blog. Been sick for the last part, but I will try and stay true and explain everything to you, the blog.
I got stomach flu. And a chest cold. In the last few days a bit of sinusitis. Now I'm back at work with a fear of stomach cancer? Whenever I eat it takes a while for my stomach to settle, and it tries to express the idea of using a purgotorium. I decline, every time.
I finished Creation. Now im reading Ilium. Fucking amazing. Cant. even. express. it.
i dont have that much to write, im gonna try and go smoke when Im done here so I can waste some more time. But I have made a new book list. It is as follows :
Pawn of Prophecy (The Belgariad, Book 1) by David Eddings
A Gentle Madness: Bibliophiles, Bibliomanes, and the Eternal Passion for Books by Nicholas A. Basbanes
Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling by Ross King
Galileo's Daughter: A Historical Memoir of Science, Faith, and Love by Dava Sobel
When I'm done with the masterpiece of Ilium, Ill start on its sister novel, Olympos. That will probably be a few days. Only got about 100 pages down tonight. Im savoring it though. Like I learned to do with Simmons. Like a fine wine, [they say] or a steak.

I hate my lack of a love-life. Im romantic. Girls are whores. Women are nowhere to be found. I hate looking at amateur porn because of the chance that I'll see someone I know and I will either get very angry or just generally displeased.
Guess Ill go smoke now.
Pah.
Its been about 2 weeks since I've posted in this blog. Been sick for the last part, but I will try and stay true and explain everything to you, the blog.

Oh glory day. I wake up at 5pm. Run to the mailbox for a big bag of disappointment. I didnt even get Clipper ads to throw in my furious rage. The only option was to skulk back to the aparmtnet and try to go back to sleep. Try to not think about no money or no cigarettes or no food. What? Im on a diet. So I do go back to sleep, and end up having some weird dreams.
The first one appears to be taking place at School. Not any specific school, but parts of different schools mashed up in my subconscious. School of the Mind. I'm reading a book, not sure what it is, [The cover is too far away now for me to even try and place it.] when I walk around the corner some Mexican guy trips me, then tries to fight me. I don't stop reading, I get up, and walk away. I feel him kicking my legs but it doesn't stop my haste. Then I woke up. I take it this means I'm unstoppable or powerless. Or both.
The clock reads that its only 6. No bigger thief than time, in my humble opinion. So I roll over and try to go back to sleep. The next dream is not as strange, but obviously a trick of the Oneiroi. One I'm all too familiar with. My room is infinitely dark. I turn over. The clock reads :1:00. Which means 1:00am. Thats it. I wake up in a panic and curse the name of Morpheus before i try to slip back into sleep for another hour or so. But it dosent happen. I wake up, check the mailbox to make sure that the first time was real, and disappointingly enough, it was. Nothing still.
The fridge is empty at work. Oh how this displeases me.
Syntho-chicken flavo-burgers.
Huzzah! I found them! hiding in the back fridge! damn day-walkers made the night staff hide then. Look, its not your food. You actually get gourmet catering. Assholes. We get frozen food. Don't eat my shit.
Handing out cig's left and right is finally helping as well. I'm out of smokes, and Dick's got a pack and a half. Huzzah. And they are not menthol! hurraaah!!! es ist Freitag! I didn't even realize it! Yaaaaaay. Hopefully the fucking check's get here and they're NOT fucking Bank1. I swear if they are I'm making that cute Cerena take me out to dinner, buy me smokes and power.
Ill do it. I swear. Woo. Now I might even get to go home early. As long as I make up the hours next week. No biggie. ill just come into work 30mins early a few days to make up for it. I really don't mind. Because I love this job. Preston had some business meeting to go to this morning so hes really tired. As a matter of fact, so am I. I was hoping those checks would've come today so I could've gotten a)ministry trash bags b) some sort of foodwich and c) smoking perishables and and D) paper towels. I need to clean my room really bad. And the kitchen even worse. I need to throw away all the excess dishes, and just utterly horrible ones so that we only have 2 sets between the 2 of us. These we could even hand dry, cut down on the power bill by not using the dishwasher.
Well shit, they wont be coming tomorrow, its fucking the Lord's day. Sunday. And everyone celebrates Sunday.
Alright. Now I'm gonna do some more emails and then read some more of Creation.

Self-Righteous Indignant Assholes. I wish i could make that sentence more beautiful. Or as ugly as my self-righteous indignation. But fuck them. Honestly.
Reason for Misanthropy #12 :
---People dont give a shit enough to find out how something works. They want everything done for them in some magical way.
Example :
Customer wants us to cancel an account that is mysteriously billing him. He gives us no information except for one email address. He did not sign up under this email address, so nothing shows up. An email response is sent out telling him 'Sorry bud. Not enough info' but in so many words. He sends us another email back saying that hes going to take legal action, and that he has friends in high places. But he only has the one email. still. He gets another reply like the one before. Customer Fuck-stick writes us back saying that this is highly unprofessional and that the entire 'little business' is a scam.
O.k. Good for him and his cute little opinion.
Doesn't change the fact we cant find his subscription. Nor the fact that he will not call in to provide us with more information. The email even says exactly what he needs to provide us with to find the information. He gave us his last name and zip code. Nothing. Another legal threat. Alright buddy call your friends. Let them know that your being charged $29.95 a month with information you seem to have stored magically, up your ass.
I mean, I can only imagine one of his friends calling up, and getting treated like every other customer. Well do you know the credit card it was charged too? Well im sorry but we show no records of anything on this card. What was the site? www. fuck-n-suck-ugly gay-dudes.com. Nope. Still nothing sorry. I mean, the cockmaster can actually fucking send a fax with the charge on it, have a team of GoGetter's look at it, and more than likely resolve it.
Ive been threatened legally so many times in the last month or 2 of working here, I'm positive that there are more people who have 'some political ties' than don't. Makes me kind of sad really. I'm in the minority there.
morale of the story - emotion clouds judgement.
ANYWAY on a non-work related note. Well, non-real-place-of-employment, anyway. I've been trying to read Gore Vidal's 'Creation', but with little success. Not that I dont want too. But, fuck, we've been so busy lately. I've had it for 2 days and I'm only 75 pages in. Urgh feel like im in 4th grade inching through jurassic park one new vocabulary word at a time. And I'm really enjoying it too!
Its about the grandson of the Prophet Zoroaster, and his life and travels encountering the prechrist messiah figures. Confucious, Bhudda, Zoroaster and Plato and the such. Beautifully written and enormously insightful and informative. The only other author I have read that has put more information than words on a page is Robert A. Wilson. Which is a very respectable remark. Im not as engrossed with the other Vidal historical fiction though. I want to read the one about Julian Augusta's, Lincoln, and a historical political semi-fictitious novel about the New Deal to McCarthy Era called Washington D.C. and a newly discovered fantasy work he wrote called In Search of the King.
Well the weekends almost here. Then I can finish Creation without interruption. I cant wait either, there is a stack of books I want to read when Im done with it.
This chain of reading for the last few months seems more solid than before. As a matter of fact, all of the 'phases' or 'cycles' as I like to call them are slowly blending together. It used to be where I would devote myself to one thing entirely, one genre, one interest, one author, one vice. But now I seem to be able to juggle them without much disinterest, as happens to plague me after a while. I feel like for the first time I'm understanding the literature that I'm reading, and creating, in my mind. I couldn't sleep last night because I was too busy rewriting and novelizing the old movie Jack, The Giant Killer in my head. Didn't end up falling asleep until 11 again.
Buckethead is coming to Flagstaff on the 9th of February. That will be fantastic. Forgot to tell AP though. Heh. My supervisor wants to come with us, so I'm guessing that at least 8 of us will be at the show. 25$ for ticket, then another $50 for booze and merch. The merchandise at a Buckethead show is usually a glorius fanboy treasure chest. Last time I was there I got a buckethead shirt. Which has oddly enough disappeared entirely.. I think Jesse might have stolen it? Or Channing? I cant keep track. Women steal my clothes. Guess Ill have to add that one to the list. Oh well. I'll get another one. Perhaps a Buckethead painting [though I dont think it would fare well at a concert..] or perhaps another shirt. Deli Creeps maybe. Maybe he will have put out another 3 rare concert only cds. That would be nice.
I logged into Kerrazy-Torrents the other night to a PM asking me If I could post the new Buckethead cd. I was touched. There wasnt any asking, they just assumed that I already had it. Because of my previous releases no doubt, but its nice, that recognition from a stranger. I told them money was tight now but when I was able to I would make a scene release. Another triumph of the internet, I was promoted to CG Superfan! Only 160 members out of the 2000+ have that rank. Yeah fuck you Im excited. I fucking love CG.
Well shit. I dont have anything interesting to write anymore. Im coughing. This took me hours to write as is. fucking work. I sure do like it a lot.

the grasshopper lies heavy
I have not written in my journal for 10 days.
Unfortunately, nothing has happened.
I have been working, and reading. When I find time I'll play some FFXII [beat that fucking dragon finally]. I think Ive read at least 3 books since I last wrote here, including the Godfather.
After that I read the Picture of Dorian Gray. I enjoyed it very much. It was the first Wilde novel I have read, not the one I wanted too, but the only one they had available at Bookmans. I enjoyed the prose, as I do most of the pre/turn of the century writers. I read some reviews on amazon about people saying that he "thinks he is clever", which shocks me. I found him to be quite clever. I love reading satire, and I love witty satire all the more. I thought that Wilde's criticism of Vanity and Society to be relevent, even today. I have no doubt that there are at least four people in Scottsdale who have the same sort of curse/blessing that Dorian did. Anyway. I enjoyed it. I will seek out Wilde's other work at a later time.
The Story of B was next on my reading list. There really isnt anything to say about Daniel Quinn that hasnt already been said. He has an amazing power in his writing. I wouldn't call them novel's as so much Guides to Understanding the World Around and Within You. But I guess novel fits better. Oh well. I enjoyed Ishmael more, overall, for a few reasons. The first is that It felt like I have already read the Story of B. I knew the issues that Quinn was talking about, and they didn't require the explanation. But by no means does that mean I did not like the book. I love the main plot, about the threat of a very real Antichrist, and the sect of Laurentians ominously keeping watch. Waiting to send a messenger to absorb the message, then to judge for the church. Religion, Science and the essence to keep them seperated has always plagued me. And in a good, intellectual way. The way any good argument is supposed too. I was not looking for a new answer in Quinn's book, I knew that there wasn't one. There is no answer, there is only action, which is a main theme in the book as well. I loved the book in the sense that it was like all the pretentious talks my friends and I used to have under the pink Arizona sky in my old backyard, and I'm glad that someone has taken the preemptive and already had one written and published. I guess my dislike for the book comes from my misanthropic view of humanity, society and the such. But let it never be questioned that I do not love the human race and what it is capable of, but that I hate what humanity has poisoned itself with. Final verdict, read this fucking book. Then read Ishmael.
As of last night I finished a Dan Simmon's book I have never seen, or heard of for that matter; 'Fires of Eden'. I got to admit, I have a man-crush on Dan Simmons. As does anyone who's read him I believe. I was in bookmans, browsing the horror section looking for my usuals of Bloch, Campbell, Lee and Simmons when I saw 'Fires of Eden'. I inspected the book, having never heard of it, and read the synopsis on the back. Let me simplify for a few sentences. Strange disappearances in a Hawaii resort lead a group of people to believe that the Hawaiian Dark Gods are stirring. Thats all you get. Thats really all you need. Its Dan Simmons. I devoured it in a few days, as is the usual ritual for a new Simmons book, and I was not disappointed. Again. Nor do I think he will ever let me down. If you like Simmons, read this if you can find it. His next book is called 'Drood' and is a historical fiction-biography of Charles Dickens, told by his friend and fellow writer Wilkie Collins. Or Bootsy Collins. I don't recall. Either way, I want to kiss that mans feet. One of the most interesting parts of Fires of Eden is that it is told in present day [or what was present day] and in the late 19th century. The main character's Aunt Kidder left her a journal, recording her [supernatural] account of her visit to the Sandwich Islands. She is
Now, as of about 20 minutes ago, I finished another book. 'The Man in the High Castle' by Philip K Dick. This is the first time I've been able to finish it too. All the times before I got to the same part, Juliana and the Wop, and I have to return it or it gets stolen or is burned to appease some God on high. A while ago, I went to Borders to see If I can find any books I wasn't able to find carousing the local bookstores. Which happens often. [Now I knew that going in here I should be ready to spend an arm or a leg, which i ended up doing] I ended up getting this beautiful American Classics PKD book containing 4 of his novels from the 60's. 'The Man in the High Castle', 'The 3 Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch', 'Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?' and 'Ubik'. The pages are bible thin, and the paper exquisitely white. I feel the need to wash my hands before groping its pages. All four novels were chosen by Johnathan Letham, with his own Notes and Chronology in the back. The Chronology is expertly written. My favorite piece is below :
1969 : Receives phone call from Timothy Leary who is attending John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 'bed-in' in a Montreal hotel. Leary puts Lennon and Ono on the phone; they discuss their admiration for the novel The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and their desire to adapt it to film
Fantastic. Anyway, I finished the 'MitHC' a little while ago, and of course, Dick stews in my brain. I, of course, cannot recommend his books, but I hope that you look for them yourself.
Fucking 35 minutes left. When I read this again It will be days from now, if not then hours, and I will be here no more.
Decided to write down critique, or review of the books that I read to keep them fresh. I can make a list of well over 200 books that I've read and wouldn't be able to tell you the main characters name and plot twists unless I was allowed to flip through them. That dosen't seem honest, so you [I] will have the accounts as they progress.
I think the relay operators are getting more leaninant. Or give less of a shit then when I worked at 2wire. I didnt have to say go ahead, and the operator talked to me like I was really talking to the client.
Oh well. Apparently no ones been doing any emails for the last 2 hours so back to work I go. For 25mins.
until next time.
Unfortunately, nothing has happened.
